1.- Adoptive parents shall fill an application form attaching the following documentation:
- Copy of ID.
- Copy of the birth certificate of the adoptive parents and their kids in case they have them.
- Copy of the Marriage certificate or divorce sentence or death certificate of the spouse.
- Judicial and Penal history certificate.
- Physical and Mental health certificate.
- Work certificate, beginning certificate or legal statement of the rent tax.
- Photos of the adoptive parents and their home.

2.- To be evaluated (socially, legally, psychologically and morally) for the National Secretariat in case of Peruvian couples or the corresponding Adoption Agency in case they are foreigners, whose country has an agreement with Peru.
3.- Once you have been designated for a determined kid or teen, you shall make formal the acceptance in the following seven days of the designation.
4.- To go to the home for the presentation of the boy or girl or teen designated, before the specialized staff of the National Secretariat of Adoptions and staff of the home.
5.- Take out the kid or teen if the empathy process is positive.
6.- To assume the family collocation in a seven day period, in which empathy is evaluated again and the adaptation is evaluated too.
7.- To get the adoption resolution, which is issued by the National Secretariat of Adoptions.
8.- The National Secretariat of Adoptions makes a three year monitoring process when the couple are from Peru. If the couple is not Peruvian, then the corresponding adoption agency makes the following process for four years. This agency shall send the advances every month.
International adoption process is ruled by international agreements of agreements made with the appropriate institutions.
Currently, Peru has agreements with Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Denmark, Luxemburg, France, Norway, Belgium, Holland, Sweden and United States.
